So...here it is, homecoming week. And all of the excitement and fun activities that along with it all. We have fun games and activities during lunch every day, as well as the big assembly on Friday. It should be fun.
Here is the question I have for you guys. What other fun activities would you like to see for the students during homecoming? This is your chance to let the school leadership know what you think would be fun to try.
I think one fun thing for the students to do is to have a "white out" at the football game Friday night. For those of you who do not know what a "white out" is, it is where all of the students wear white shirts to the game. I think the other team would be so intimidated they wouldn't even want to play the game.
Let me know what you think, and let me hear your ideas. Remember it is our school and our homecoming. Let's all do our best to make it as good as it possibly can be.
GO LIONS!!!

SCHOOL SPIRIT

Many of you may or may not know that I went to school and graduated from Maple Valley. I was always active in sports (baseball and football). When I was a student here everybody was very proud of being a Maple Valley Lion. There was a lot of school spirit. I was discussing this with Ms. Brumm and we agree that there is not as much school spirit as there used to be. What I mean by school spirit is a feeling of belonging to this school. I think that many students look at it as if they go to this school. I think it is our school and we should be proud of it.

When I was speaking to Ms. Brumm she was trying to come up with some ideas on how to increase school spirit at M.V. The Spirit Club is one of her ideas. I think it is an awesome idea. We now have a "student section" at the sporting events. And the students in the Spirit Club can come up with their own ideas.

Although Ms. Brumm has come up with some good ideas for the school spirit, she could use a little help. Adults don't always know what kids think is fun. We need your help. I want you to give us some ideas for fun school spirit building activities. Tell me some of your ideas. Let us know what fun things you would like to do around the school. Well.....I'm waiting.

Mr. Woodman's Neighborhood

Hello All,
My name is Mr. Woodman. I am a new teacher here at Maple Valley. I have created this blog for anybody who wants to discuss anything Maple Valley. I am happy to discuss any Maple Valley sports, or extra curricular activities. For students in my classes this is where you can go for answers to questions and/or get information. I look forward to hearing from each and every one of you.

Ground Rules:
I am happy to discuss anything of interest. I will not allow any abusive or inappropriate language. If what you want to say is inappropriate for use in school, it is inappropriate to use here. For my students this is a classroom.

I am excited to hear from you, the students at Maple Valley. If you have a topic of discussion, please feel free to introduce it and we can discuss it. Please remember be respectful.

The first thing I would like to discuss is... What do the students of our school think about somebody smashing our sign? The sign is expensive and the school will have to use money to fix it. Money that could be spent on better things.
