Hello all. I have been hearing some disturbing things lately. I have heard students talking about how bad the football team is this year. I say we have a new coach who is doing an awesome job. He has some really good ideas. I like the fact that he expects the players to be leaders in the school, such as sitting in the front row and being model students. I love that. Give him a chance to be successful before you condemn him and the team.
I also believe that if you are not a part of the team you have no right to criticize them. If you are one of the people who feels as though things aren't going in the right direction, you should join the team. Maybe you are the one thing that is missing. Everyone has to think about how hard everyone involved with football works. The kids who play on the team work most of the year so they can be strong and ready for the team. I know kids who run and workout all summer while the rest of us are taking it easy. The coaches put in many hours outside of their normal day to make football fun and successful for the kids who play. They all deserve our unconditional support, not criticism.
The next time any of us feel like criticising the football team, maybe we should find someone involved and say,"good job". Positive comments will make them feel good and like they are appreciated. I sure do appreciate all they do for our school.

This is very true. Linc is a great coach, but sometimes you can't get enough guys to work hard. A team isn't made of one person, but of many. "The night of the big game isn't won that night, but the week or year before".

ReplyDeleteWe have a great coach this year he is doing good just give him a chance to get with it and know how to make us better. The Kids work all throughout the summer while we sleep in and be lazy and watch tv they're are getting better and not being lazy....
There will always be a few "ao-called" fans who think they have a right to negative comments because they've paid the price for admission. If they don't like their team, then they should sit with the visiting team, or perhaps transfer to their school. --JR
ReplyDeleteMan do I hate typos. "So-called" fans. "s" not "a".
ReplyDeleteI agree......
ReplyDeleteThe coaches are very good and i suspect that they are trying there hardest, but at times i feel as if some of the team members could try a little harder. Like maybe not playing ways but in sportsmanship ways. Like what you said about the roll model part i don't think is entirely true, i mean the coaches might want them to be good role models for the schools but you have to face it, sometimes they aren't the best role models. I think they should work harder on being good sports and not so much on picking on people. Now this doen't include all of the football team, because the coaches and some of the team are doing wonderful, and I'm proud their on the team, but for the others they should work harder on and off the feild. And i'm not saying i don't like the team it's just that i know some of the players and they can have bad sportsmanship. But other than that I think that most of them are trying their hardest.
